Process

High Vacuum Densification is a process used to increase the density of the foundation material. The process involves the removal of air and other gases from the material by subjecting it to a vacuum of very low pressure. Following are the steps used in adopting HVD technique.

  • Ground Preparation
  • Installation of drains
  • Dynamic Compaction
  • Release of water through the drains
  • Releasing of porewater pressure
  • Cooling and Venting

High Vacuum Densification M is commonly used in the production of advanced ceramics, sintered materials, and in some aspects of powder metallurgy to improve the mechanical and thermal properties of the final product. It’s a crucial process for achieving high-quality, dense materials with low porosity.

Advantages

  • One of Geoharbour group’s patented technologies
  • Suitable to improve soft Silt/Clay Soil and also soil that has fines content with a high ground-water table, such as silty sand and clayey sand
  • The combination of vacuum drainage (- pressure) and dynamic compaction (+ pressure)
  • Effectively dissipates excess pore water pressure
  • Improve the soil through the effects of decreasing water content and increasing density
