Seacant Pile Shoring

Seacant Pile Shoring Process

A Secant Pile Wall ingeniously assembles overlapping (secant) piles to create robust structural or cutoff walls, ensuring the essential water-tight integrity. For added strength, the design seamlessly integrates steel bars or beams as reinforcement, and should the need arise, supplementary anchors can be introduced to bolster lateral support.

Secant pile walls embody a dynamic blend of reinforced and non-reinforced piles. The initial installation typically involves non-reinforced piles crafted from cement or bentonite, providing structural stability. Subsequently, reinforced piles come into play, reinforced using cages, I-beams, or H-beams to further enhance structural integrity.

In scenarios where secant pile walls rely on anchors or a strutting system, they are often supplemented with a waler beam. This beam serves a dual purpose: it evenly distributes loads, preventing the anchor/strut from piercing through the piles, and serves as a contingency measure in the improbable event of an anchor or strut not bearing the load. The waler beam can be skillfully constructed as a reinforced concrete beam, cast adjacent to the pile wall, or via the utilization of steel profiles firmly affixed to the piles and the anchor/strut system.
